Like a child who always sees the world brand new, we begin this first day of what remains in our life.
Like a child seeks enjoyment and wonder of many events without worry and full of contentment, we open the door to the next miracle that might come through our front door, or surprise us when we found them in the window.
Like a child blind to suffering, and unbent by catastrophe, we take our breath and swing our step forward, because Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream, and he embraced such a dream we all want to achieve in faith. Faith that is taking the first step even when we don’t see the whole staircase.
Like a child devoid of prejudice, open and pure, we have accepted one of the greatest blessings in our life. The last time we had the chance to receive USD 2,000 was five years ago, when we were named The Shelter of The Month by SPCA International. You are seeing many part of the USD 2,000 in the form of the water reservoir tower that often featured in our photo.
This year, that chance came from a donor who offered to double every donation if made by Giving Tuesday on November 28, 2017, when charity, kindness and goodwill spread hope throughout the United States where it originated, yet its spirit touched many across the border.
As you can see from our banner, we only made it through halfway of the challenge. As of today, we still need USD 814 to reach the goal.
We, the admins and the residences of The Whiskers’ Syndicate are grateful beyond measure, and I personally have been truly humbled by the enormous support that have been outpouring toward us. Many times the language that has been my gift escaped me, as tears rolls down my cheek when I read all your messages. Some gave up their cups of coffee, some gave up one or a few dinners out, some even dig into their vacation budget and made a better choice. Whatever you did truly belittled the amount of the challenge.
Inspired by the ocean of your love and touched by the spirit of your kindness, the matching challenge will be extended to December 5th.
On Sunday, Christine posted a little game about naming our cats based on what we ate the last time. Until today, that post has reached over 3,600 people. Our normal post have never touched more than 478 person. Everyone from around the world and even friends of the friends of the friends join the fun and we have the biggest cat naming banquet in history. No party ever will demean it.
Imagine how enormous it will be, if such colossal power applied to the matching challenge?
Wouldn’t it equal so much fun we have, or should it be another miracle on its own?
Like these children who dragged out an exhaust fan placeholder and sail the seven seas in their dream, with one lucky black cat on the bridge, I will begin this day with these: hope, faith and love.
Love that took us this far, hope that give us strength always, and faith that swings our feet towards a better future, even when we cannot see the whole staircase.
